How do I get Quickbooks online to calculate based on check date and not G/L date?

I'm happy to assist with getting QuickBooks to calculate based on the check date versus the G/L date. First, I need to know what area of QuickBooks Online you are referring too (example: payroll, reports, etc). To help me better understand this can you provide a screenshot of what you are trying to change the calcualtions on?
