I added payroll to my qbo account and when I log in i have to pick which account I want to log in as payroll or regular dashboard

The option to merge the Payroll menu and Dashboard in running payroll is unavailable. Once we subscribe to payroll service, we'll need to click the Payroll menu to add employees and run payroll transactions. For more details about running your payroll, see the Get started with Payroll article. 

On the other hand, the dashboard displays an overview of your company, giving you a quick business update (like the status of your income and expenses, your bank accounts, and more). To learn more about your QuickBooks Online dashboard, check out this article: An introduction to the home dashboard.
