Hello there, castilloandcojew.

QuickBooks Self-Employed helps you track your self-employed income and expenses. It calculates your federal estimated quarterly taxes so you know how much to pay each quarter. In addition, it tracks info you can use to file taxes for your self-employed work at the end of the year.

Yes, you'll need to create a tax payment so the tax due reminder will not prompt. If your bank is connected to QuickBooks Self-Employed the one you use in paying your taxes, you'll just have to categorize it as an Estimated Taxes. If not, here's how to manually create a transaction using a browser:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Click Add transaction at the upper-right.
  3. Enter the date when you paid the tax and the correct amount.
  4. Select the TYPE and select Federal Taxes under CATEGORY.
  5. Click Save.

Another option is through the Taxes page.

  1. Go to Taxes from the left menu.
  2. Set the year and select the Quarterly tab.
  3. Choose the quarter you want to mark the tax payment for.
  4. Click Find your estimated tax payments.
  5. Check the tax payment and hit Mark as tax payment.
