Thanks for dropping by, @dappelgirl.

You may need to check or modify an employee's address to a specific work location to prevent you from receiving unapplicable tax filing requirements.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and then select Employees.
  2. Click on an employee in question.
  3. Hit the Pencil icon on the Employment section, change the Work location.
  4. Select Done.

On the other hand, let me guide you on how to remove the Work location.

  1. Go to Gear and then select Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Company and Account, select Work Locations.
  3. Select the location that you want to remove.
  4. Choose Delete.
  5. Once you confirmed that you haven't run payroll for this year at the work location, select Yes.

This way, it will remove the requirements to file taxes to a specific state.

For more details on how to manage your employee work locations, check out the Set up and assign a new work location article.

In case you have no option to remove the work location, I'd suggest contacting our Payroll Support team to remove it by pulling your account using their tools.
