Question

I need to add all of 2019 FUTA payments correctly into Online QB. I paid these manually to the IRS and did not input them with QB. How do I input?

I input all FUTA for 2019 with EFIS, bi -weekly with each payroll. I want to be able to generate one FUTA report in QB but I am not sure how to do it.

We can run the Payroll Liability report as our guide in recording payments, davidcareyf.

The report shows your state and federal taxes withheld, paid, and owed for the selected time range. Let me show you how to pull that up:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and select Payroll Taxes.
  2. At the bottom, click View your Tax Liability report.
  3. Select the correct Date Range.
  4. Look into the tax type (FUTA) and the tax amount.
  5. You van click Share at the upper-right and click Export to Excel. Use the report as reference in recording the payments.

Let me show you how to record prior tax payments.

  1. Still from the Taxes > Payroll Taxes
  2. Select Enter prior tax history
  3. Click Add Payment
  4. Select the correct Tax Type, period, payment date and the tax amount
  5. Click OK to save.

You can run the tax liability report gain to see if they now have a zero amount. You might also want to look into our payroll reports article that will help identify the report based on the data you need.
