Thanks for checking in with us, userapriscillat.

We can manually add the transaction as proof of paying car insurance in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). Then, you can enter the details in the Description column that it comes out from your husbands account. For Category, we can use the

Vehicle insurance to categorize expenses related to using your vehicle for business. Also, we categorize car and truck expenses as a business.

You can also seek expert advice from an accounting tax professional since the insurance payment comes out from your husband's account. They'll be able to share further details on how to record this one in your account. Her's how you can categorize the car insurance:

  1. Go to the Transaction menu and select Add Transaction.
  2. Enter the amount and a description.
  3. Tick the Select a category menu and choose Vehicle insurance
  4. If you have a receipt, you can drag and drop it onto the form.
  5. When you’re done, press Save

For more details about this one, see Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed article. Check out also the categories in QuickBooks Self-Employed article for additional reference about categories.
