Yes, bgreenwell. QuickBooks Online automatically e-file and e-pay.

These features depend on what product you have. If you have the Full serviceCoreElite, and Premium type of payroll, we will send and file your forms on your behalf. For the Enhanced type of payroll, you need to file/pay and submit your taxes.

Below are the listed payroll forms and taxes we submit for you:

  • Forms 940 and 941.
  • Employee Wage and Tax Statement Form W-2 and W-3.
  • For Intuit Online Payroll Full Service Only: Forms 1099-MISC and Form 1096.

For more details about what other taxes are paid on your behalf, please see this article: Tax Payments and Forms Intuit Payroll Submits For You.

If you're enrolled in our E-file & Pay feature, you can easily e-file payroll taxes electronically in your online payroll account. I suggest checking this article for more details: Pay and File Payroll Taxes Online.

In case you're using Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced and QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced, you can learn how to file quarterly tax forms by clicking this article.

I suggest getting back to this thread if you need further assistance in dealing with your other payroll tasks. We're always here to help you.

Hi bgreenwell,

Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about your inquiry about how QuickBooks Online handles e-file and e-pay you had yesterday. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
