Question

My Contractor cannot access their 1099 through the efile that was sent. "It won't let me access it since there are no quickbooks linked to this email address." Help?

We have the contractors listed with their information in QB. The contractor received their link, but it didn't work for them.

Let's get the invite link working so your contractors can access their 1099s, @useraunica.

When you send your 1099s, your contractors will have to accept the email invite. They'll need to set up a free QuickBooks Self-Employed account and use the same email address you use to contact them. This way, they can view the form online.

For more details, please review this article: Invite a contractor to add their own tax info.

You can resend the invite so they can create their free account. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, and then choose Contractors.
  2. Select the contractor's name.
  3. Click the Send email or Send a reminder link.

Once you submit your 1099s to the IRS, they'll receive an email notification to view the form through their account.

If you wish to save copies of your 1099s, you can always print them in QuickBooks.

I'm still up and running to answer any 1099 concerns you may have. I'd be glad to help you anytime.
