Need to change the company name in QBO and we do not do payroll for this company. How do I do this?

If you have QuickBooks Self-Employed, a payroll subscription is unavailable for the plan. However, if you wanted to change your company name, you can log in to your Intuit Account using this link and change your company name under Personal info: https://accounts.intuit.com/. 

On the other hand, if you have QuickBooks Online, you can follow these steps on how to change your company name and cancel your payroll subscription: 

1. Log in to https://qbo.intuit.com/.
2. Click the Gear icon at the upper-right, click Accounts and settings. 
3. From the left menu, click Company. 
4. Click the Company name section, change the Company name and click Save. 
5. Under Billing & Subscription, select Cancel subscription under QuickBooks Payroll. Follow the onscreen instructions.
6. Click Done to save changes. 

You'll want to log out and log back in to refresh the system and further check the updates. For more details, you can use this link for more details in changing your business name, contact info, or EIN in QuickBooks Online.

If your page looks like the image below, then you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). That's why you don't have the Account and Settings under the Gear icon. 

In QBSE), there is no option to add a business name. Although what you can do is to edit the name of your QBSE account to the business name. Since the name displayed on your account depends on the Name that is set up.

To update your personal information, here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
2. Under About you column, select Intuit Account. 
3. Go to Personal Info section, then click Edit on the name. 
4. Enter your business name and pick Save. 

However, if you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO). Your page should look like the image below:
