Plumbing Service company - using QBO payroll - would like payroll taxes for service techs to be COGS and for office staff to be overhead. How can I do this?

QuickBooks Online has its default setting. Though, you have the option to modify it. Doing this will give you the options to change the preferences that fit your needs. 

Here's how: 

1. Go to Gear icon, then select Payroll Settings. 
2. Under Preferences choose Accounting. 
3. From Tax Expense Accounts, select Cost of Goods Sold- SuppliesMaterialsCogs. 
4. Hit OK. 

Once finished, updating the preferences, you'll be able to see changes made in the setup.
