Selling Reports
Is it common for accountants to sell reports to their clients? I would like to sell additional custom PDF's and sharable custom reports. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I believe when I share a report with one of my client he then saves it. How do "unshare" it?

Some do some do not it really depends on how you do the billing
But from the view point of a business owner, I expect to be supported by my consultant, reporting is part of that support. If you have to use an outside reporting tool like Crystal reports, and you let me know you consider that custom report to be ouside the concept of paid support. Then I will make the decision to go for the additional charge or not.
But any report you create for me, is mine to do with as I please, I paid for it.

If I'm developing a custom report, I always write a proposal. In the proposal it states that the report remains my property.
customizing a report within QuickBooks & then exporting it for resale doesn't always work depending on the modifications made & each clients chart of accounts.
That being said, the is no option to unshare it.
