for that to work you have to make it past the initial crash of new features tour to get to the help menu so that solution is not accurate
in our case logging in as the ADMIN resulted in the new features tour not showing up upon login BUT if you activate it manually from the help menu the same crash and hang occurs

Hi there bobbie,
Thanks for choosing QuickBooks as your accounting software.
The New Features pop-up you see is one way of letting our customers know the things you can do using QuickBooks. You can simply click the X mark to turn it off.
If there's anything that I can help you with getting around QuickBooks, visit the Community anytime. We're here for you.

Clicking the X only closes it until I reopen the file and then it shows up again. I don't want it to show up every time I open a file.

Hi.... Just wanted to see if your issue was resolved. I see originally you were asking just about turning off the New Features, but now it looks like the New Features is crashing QBs Is that still the case?
If New Features truly is crashing QBs, I'd recommend you:
- BACK UP!! Easiest way is to copy the whole folder that has your company_name.QBW file in it to the desktop (Not the whole program folder, just the folder with your company file data.)
- Uninstall
- Restart your computer, then Reinstall QBs
- Open your company file (If you need to choose it, be sure to chose the original location, NOT the desktop folder.)
If for any reason you can't open your company. COPY the items in the Desktop Backup folder into the QBs data folder and try again. (Again, be sure you're trying to open the file in the correct folder.)
