Quickbooks 2019 for Mac - import bank files QFX format only

Our bank (BoA) does not provide a QBO file for export. Only a QFX file. We have tried the workaround of changing the extension from QBO to QFX but that didn't work. We keep getting either greyed out file names or (if we change the extension) an error message to contact our financial institution.

Manually entering in 100's of transactions is not an effective use of our time. So please, don't suggest that we just enter things in. We've tried to convert files to TXT and CSV formats - no good. So, what is the answer? Please help, we are starting to regret buying this product and we're only a day into trying to get it setup.

Hi, gherchen.

Let me direct you to the right support that can help you further.

I'd like to check this for you and get it taken care of myself. However, I won't be able to check your bank files without asking for sensitive information. I don't want your account information displayed here for security reasons since Community is a peer user forum.

It would be best if you reach out to our QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and provide you with the right resolution.

Here's how you can contact us:

  1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product.
  3. Select your QuickBooks version.
  4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

Feel free to reach again if you have any other questions. I’d be more than willing to lend you a hand.
