Employees and payroll

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I can walk you through the steps for updating the W4 information.
What Payroll subscription are you using? Since you indicate Payments, I’m adding the steps for QuickBooks Online Payroll/QuickBooks Full Service Payroll (QBOP/QBFSP), Intuit Online Payroll/Intuit Full Service Payroll (IOP/IFSP) and QuickBooks Desktop Payroll (QBDT Payroll).
QBOP/QBFSP:
- Go to Workers menu and select Employees.
- Choose the employee from the list.
- Click the pencil icon beside Pay.
- Under What are Employee’s withholdings? section, click the pencil icon.
- Update the information.
- Hit Done.
IOP/IFSP:
- Go to Employees tab at the top.
- Click the employee’s name.
- In the Taxes & Exemptions box, click Edit.
- Update the information.
- Hit OK.
QBDT Payroll:
- Go to Employees from the top menu and select Employee Center.
- Select the employee from the list.
- In the Information For (employee) window, click Payroll Info.
- Click Taxes.
- Update the taxes you want to change.
- Click OK.
