This sounds to me like you received the 1099's for work you have done.
If so, even though total earnings is 12K, fill out the tax form, that will tell you for sure if you need to file a return even if no tax is due. Keep in mind a copy of the 1099;s you received also went to the IRS and because of that, you may need to file a no tax info return.
