Expense/Receipt listed in wrong tax year.

1. I entered several expense receipts (office supplies, supplies etc) that showed up in this year (2019) when I am trying to do last year (2018). I thought I could just shift it over to the other year but I can't see how to do this? Help!

2. How do I make sure that the receipt goes into the right year when I am snapping a picture of them?

Thank you

Thanks for dropping by the Community space. Let me welcome you first to the QuickBooks family.

I can help ensure receipts are attached to the correct transactions. Let me guide you through the process to do this in your account.

Here's how:

  1. If you access the account via the web browser, use this link: http://ca.selfemployed.intuit.com/login.
  2. Choose Transactions on the left panel.
  3. Click on the drop-down for Date, then select Custom date.
  4. In the Custom date window, enter the Start and End dates in the fields.
  5. Click on Apply.
  6. In the upper-right hand corner, click on the drop-down for Add transaction.
  7. Fill in the necessary fields.
  8. You can either Drag /browse the receipt.
  9. Click on Save.

However, if you’re using the mobile app, you can follow the step by step on how to add receipts: Add a receipt in the mobile app.

After following these steps, your 2018 receipts should now be attached to the transactions.

If you have additional questions about the process, please let me know. I’ll be right here to assist further.
