There are valid reasons to run the Condense Data utility in QuickBooks Desktop. Let me provide them to you and help you further.
Before condensing your data in QuickBooks, you need to know that this process is not reversible. There are also valid reasons that you need to take note before condensing your company data.
Some of these reasons include:
- You have a large data file.
- You are nearing a list limit.
- You have upgraded all your hardware.
- Your accountant and your technical support have discussed other options and are willing to proceed with condensing.

To condense your data, you may follow these steps:
- Click on File from the menu bar.
- Choose Utilities.
- Select Condense Data.
