I am having the same issue as e4. I am using QB2013 as well. The issue first presented itself yesterday afternoon and, after a Windows update that restarted everyone's Quickbooks instance, everyone is now unable to use the program.

Quickbooks client is installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 where the issue is occuring. Quickbooks server+client on a seperate Windows Server 2012 R2 system is working fine. The later does not have automatic updates enabled - perhaps this is a Windows update that broke QB2013?

I've tried the following:

  • Deleting the .ecml
  • Reinstalling Quickbooks
  • "Clean" reinstall including deletion of every related file and registry key
  • Using the Installation Diagnostics tool
    • This reported .NET 4.5 wasn't working correctly

 

I am going to attempt to uninstall every update since December 6th and will report back if it fixes anything.
