Hi there, @paul17.

I see this is your first question so let me take the time to welcome you here to the Intuit community. I can help walk you through recovering your bank account in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Here's how:

1. Go to Company menu at the top and pick Chart of Accounts on the drop-down (or press Ctrl + A on your keyboard for the shortcut).
2. Put a checkmark on the Include inactive box at the bottom part.
3. Right-click on the bank account you want to recover, then select Make Account Active on the drop-down.
4. You can also click the X icon right before the Name column to make an account active.

I also added some sample screenshots for your guide.

For future reference, you can check out this article for more further guidance: Understand QuickBooks Chart of Accounts.

That should do the trick! Please let me know how it goes or if I can be of additional assistance in the comment section. I'd be glad to answer if you have any follow-up questions. Take care and have a wonderful rest of the day!
