I'm importing journal entries via CSV, but QuickBooks groups them all into one, even though each line has a different Reference Number.

We can help you review the formatting of your CSV file to ensure that your journal entries are imported correctly into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before importing your journal entries, please double-check your spreadsheet for accuracy, as formatting issues are often the cause of import problems. Make sure your CSV file includes the following columns, using Journal Number instead of Reference Number:

• Journal No.
• Journal Date
• Account Name
• Journal/Description
• Debits
• Credits

Additionally, to ensure that QuickBooks reads the imported data correctly, you will need to enable account numbers in the Account Settings. Here’s how to do that:

1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner of the page. 
2. Select Account and settings. 
3. Navigate to the Advanced tab. 
4. In the Chart of Accounts section, turn on Enable account numbers, then click Save.
