Setting up customer type is only available in the US version of QuickBooks Online (QBO). As an alternative, you can add a note in your customer profile and type in their customer type. I'll show you how:
Go to the Sales menu and select the Customers tab.
Select the customer you want to modify.
Click Edit and go to the Notes section from the Customerinformation window.
Enter their customer type and click Save.
Additionally, you can also look for a third-party app that lets you assign a customer type. You can go to the Apps menu inside your QBO and browse from there. Once you've found an app that has the feature you need, click Get app now to link it with your QuickBooks.
