I would like to "pause" my free trial for Quickbooks Online. Won't be using it for now, but would like to return in a short while once the time is right.

You are unable to freeze the trial period. Try reopen your trial account or open a new trial account later. Once you are ready to purchase, make sure to click the Buy button to get the discounted price for up to certain months. If you purchase from the trial account, you have to pay the regular price.
