Banner Ad: "Save up to 35% off QuickBooks Online Plus for 3 months Upgrade now"

How long am I going to have to look at this banner ad?!

I use QuickBooks Online on a web browser on a laptop, which means my screen real estate is already limited. Why not give users the option to decline the offer? Or simply close (" x ") the ad? This is so annoying!

Hi there, cpevans.

I'm here to share details about the displayed ads in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

These ads are designed to guide and suggest how you can optimize your QBO experience. Currently, we don't have the option to completely stop the ads from popping up. You can click the X or No, thanks to buttons as a workaround. This way, the pop-ups will keep from showing up again.

If you're using Google Chrome, you can follow this article to guide you on how to block the ads: Block certain ads.

Additionally, you can enable the pop-up blocker in your browser. I'll show you how.

  1. Click the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  2. Select Site settings (Google Chrome) or Permission for this site (Mozilla browser).
  3. Hover to the Pop-ups and redirects section, and choose Block from the drop-down menu.

Here's how for the Safari browser:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Click Safari, then Preferences.
  3. Select Websites at the top
  4. Click Pop-up Windows on the left sidebar
  5. Then select Block in the pop-up menu for the website.

I'm only a few clicks away if you have additional questions about this or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be here to assist. Take care always.

In fact, there is no option to "click the X or No, thanks to buttons as a workaround" as you suggest. Obviously, would be my preference.

I also changed site settings in Chrome; I enabled pop-up and redirect blocker but this doesn't work either.

Appreciate all your efforts in resolving the banner ads in QuickBooks Online, @cpevans

I understand how inconvenient it is to be unable to remove unwanted advertisements. Currently, disabling them is unavailable.

While this option has yet to be available, I'd suggest sending feedback to our product engineers. This way, our developers will be aware that this is something they should consider removing. Rest assured that they're constantly working to improve the product and provide the best possible experience for all QuickBooks users.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the upper right-hand.
  2. Select the Feedback button.
  3. Type your suggestions in the field and click Next

The company is constantly seeking ways to improve its products. Feel free to vote, comment on ideas, and suggest your own by visiting this link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks
