Question

Is anyone else having issues with e-file only for 1099s?Quickbooks is giving me the following error: something is not right; please try again later

It allows me to choose the monthly subscription option but not the e-file only option

Let me help you rectify your concern regarding the error you encountered when e-filing your 1099 form in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

If you already have a QuickBooks Online Payroll, the application should allow you to e-file your 1099s. Otherwise, you’ll need to get one to submit them electronically. You can check out this website to see plans that fit your business: Payroll Services Pricing.

 

Nonetheless, if you have had the subscription already and still encounter the same error, I recommend performing browser troubleshooting steps to fix this matter. An excessive amount of cached data may cause QuickBooks to perform oddly.

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

 

Once done, sign up for your account and file your 1099s. Then, clear the cache in the browser to prevent this from happening again. If you have another supported browser, you can choose that instead.

Thanks. I've tried everything you suggest but am still receiving the same error. I need to be able to e-file and do not want to print hard copies.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Going to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat, Get a callback.
