Can the Balance Sheet in the International QBO Advanced be sorted by Detail Type instead of broad categories, or is account numbers/manual workaround the only option?

QuickBooks Online doesn’t offer the option to sort the Balance Sheet by Detail Type, Sherry.

The default Balance Sheet sorts data by Type, while Detail Type is primarily used for Chart of Accounts categorization and internal organization, rather than financial reporting.

In addition to clicking on the balances in each account for more details, you can also run your Account List report as an alternative. Another option is to go directly to the Chart of Accounts section and click on Run Report to view more information. 

Here's how:

1. Go to the Reports tab. 

2. Choose Standard Report. 

3. Look up the Account List report.
