I am very new to QB's so if you add the credit card fee to the invoice, will QB's charge on the additional net amount? Say, if the invoice is 1000 and we add a 3% fee, bringing my invoice up to 1030, will QB's charge a 3% (rounding this out) on 1030? the whole point is to pass the fee and there isn't anywhere that QBs have built into their system to do this as far as I can tell. Sorry if I sound nuts.
I got you, @Retirementkid. The option to add the charge that auto-calculates the credit card processing fee for your customer's invoice is unavailable in QuickBooks Online.
We will need to enter the detailed calculation manually in your invoice. We can indicate in the Description section the percentage and other details.
Go to Get paid & pay or Sales, then select Invoices.
Choose the invoice you want to add a service fee.
From the Product or service ▼ dropdown, select the service fee you created.
In the Description field, add the percentage. Then, from the Amount field, enter the service fee amount.
Click Review and send.

I'll share additional information about adding a credit card processing fee to the customer invoices.
Currently, the option to add it automatically isn't possible. Instead, you can charge your customer the credit card processing fee by manually adding it as a line item to their invoice. I'll show you how.
Create a service item for the processing fee:
Go to Sales, then choose Products and Services.
Click on New, then select Service.
Enter the name of your service item. (Example CC Fee)
Select the account you'd use to track our processing fees under the Income account drop-down.
Once done, click Save and Close.
After that, you can add it as an additional item every time you create an invoice for them.

Many states outlaw the practice of adding credit card processing fees to customer invoices. Make sure yours isn't one of them. And, it looks bad. It's like a retailer adding a "rent fee" because you decided to shop in-store instead of online.
