Question
Can I change inventory tracking from FIFO to weighted average for specific products? ie... FIFO- for store items, W/Avg for gasoline.
My challenge is in prev acct. program I could do this. Haven't figured it in QB yet... So I may need to change how I enter Gasoline sales. All other categories are entered only as a $ amount, not item count ( in sales ). But with gasoline, the cost changes every delivery and so does the margin. So I can't enter a flat cost % like I can for store items... (cost vs price in item setup to figure COGS) When I enter fuel sales I do quantity of gallons, and the price.... instead of just cost like other categories. So I/S is pulling the quantity of gallons sold as the cost for COGS purposes.
