It's good to see you, @robert46,

I appreciate your enthusiasm to learn the processes in QuickBooks Online. Allow me to share some insights about this.

If you're referring to the online deposits from credit card or ACH payments, assigning classes is temporarily available for these items. You can apply a class to an invoice, sales receipt and other recurring transactions.

Enable Class Tracking feature first ,so you can assign them to sales transactions.

  1. Tap the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Click Advanced the go to Categories.
  3. Mark the Track classes to turn on class tracking.
  4. Select your preferred setting on the Assign classes section.
  5. Hit Save and then Done.

Depending on the preference you selected, you may add the class for the entire transaction or each row on the transaction. See these articles to learn more about tracking classes in QuickBooks:

Create and manage your class list.

Track your transactions by class.

Having this time-saving option available in QuickBooks is a great idea. I'll be sending this feedback to our developers for review and evaluation.
