Question

Can the online invoice bill payment be set up to accept more than the invoiced amount?

Our voluntary HOA uses Quickbooks for online payments of the annual dues.  Some residents want to contribute more than the annual dues but the online invoice payment system only accepts up to the invoice amount for payments.  How can we get around or amend the online payment system to accomodate the additional contributions?

It's nice to see you here, @HOAtreasurer,

Paying more than the invoice amount is possible when using QuickBooks Online. However, for Desktop users, you only have the option to process the actual invoice due.

Having this option available is a great idea when added in the program. In the meantime, I'd recommend getting in touch with our QuickBooks Payments Support for available workarounds.

They have the resources to check you account and help you with this preference.

You can get out updated phone number through this link: Contact QuickBooks Payments

Please update me on how the call goes or if you need further assistance. I'm always around to help you, All the best!

Hi Jen,

The method you mention here sounds like it involves an invoice generated with QB Online and I'm using QB Desktop Pro and sending an invoice template that I have created in QB.  Am I confused?  The Review and Pay option does not come up when I send my invoices via email.  You only have the option to pay up to the amount of the invoice that was sent.  Nothing additional can be paid.  Is this possibly a way around this limitation that we've been discussing via FB messenger?
