That's an excellent idea, @gsariotis!

Currently, we're unable to see the previous payments associated with a job or project when creating new invoices in QuickBooks Online.

I've got some ideas to help make sure you can get around this. First, you can navigate through the Transactions tab in the Projects menu to review all your invoices and the payments that go with them. You can filter it to narrow down the search results.

To do that:

  1. Go to the Filter drop-down.
  2. Select All invoices from the Type drop-down list.
  3. Choose the desired date, and then click Apply.
  4. You'll see all the invoices and their respective status. Just click on each of them to review the payments associated with it.

The second way is to run the Invoices and Received Payments report, and then customize it to pull up the info you want.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Look for and select the said report from the search bar.
  3. Click the Customize button at the top, and then choose a Report period.
  4. Go to the Filter section, and then select the customer name associated with the project from the Customer drop-down.
  5. Click Run report.

To keep track of your project's gross and net income, you can run the Project profitability report. To do that, you can refer to the Project Reports tab, and then choose the said report from there.

Lastly, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Blog page to keep up with the latest news and product enhancements.
