I have searched online for an answer, but none of the options suggested exist in my account.

While there isn't a direct way to set this up, I can guide you through the workaround. I'll show you how:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Select Invoices from the left menu.
  3. Click Create invoice.
  4. On the first line item, choose +Add a product and service.
  5. Then add a New item with a discount with a negative sign (-).
  6. From the next line item, enter your item.
  7. Tick Save once done.
