Question

How do I connect to a business owners account? I'm working for them online entering their receipts with quick books. When I signed in there is no company associated.

It's my priority for you to access your client's business account, alvarovaleriojr.

If you are the accountant of the business, let's make sure your client invited you to be their accountant. This way, you can connect their QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) company to your firm and review their books or make some edits. If not, just inform the business owner to send you an accountant's invitation.

Here's how your client can send an invite to you:

  1. Let them log in to their QBSE account.
  2. Tick the Profile Gear icon.
  3. Select the Accountant option.
  4. In the Invite your accountant field, let your client enter the accountant's email address.
  5. Hit Send invite.
  6. Press Done.

This emails an invite to you and once you accept it, just access your client's QBSE account on your QuickBooks Online Accountant account. For more details about this one, see the Invite an accountant to review your accounting in QuickBooks Self-Employed article.

Your permissions are tied to the email address and user ID your client sent the invite to. If the same thing happens, please follow the recommended solutions in Find missing client companies in QuickBooks Online Accountant article to troubleshoot the issue.

Visit our QBSE Help Articles page for more insights about managing your client's business in Self-Employed.

I'll be right here to continue helping if you have any other concerns or questions about QuickBooks. Assistance is just a post away. Take care always.
