How do I find other business expenses that show up in my 2019 profit and loss statement when they don't exist on my transactions?

I'll help you in locating those transactions, winwinn5.

We can view all break down of all the expense transactions then locate those certain expenses in your Profit and Loss Report. I'll guide you how:

  1. Select Reports from the sidebar menu.
  2. Choose Profit and loss, then set the appropriate reporting date from the drop-down menu.
  3. Hit the View link.
  4. Select the appropriate expense category.
  5. Click the amount to expand the view.
  6. Find the transaction.

If you're still unable to view the transactions, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this. When you use your browser to look at a website for the first time, it stores information from the site in temporary files in its cache to display the image and web content faster.

As we access different websites, it will accumulate the browser cache, causing unusual behaviors in the program. This could be the reason why you can't view transactions.

We can start by:

  1. Accessing your QuickBooks account in a private/incognito browser. This process will help us point out if it's a browser-related issue since this mode doesn't save site data. Check out the shortcut keys that I've listed below.

    • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
    • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
    • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
    • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

  2. Once you're in, follow the steps above in locating the transactions. If we're able to find it, we'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to eliminate the stored junk files.

  3. If the same thing happens, we can use other supported browsers so that you'll be able to get back to work. It's possible that one you're currently using has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

I've included an article that will guide you in categorizing and editing transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
