Hi there, hbennett.

Let's make sure you'll be able to see your client's payments by name.

We can run the Invoices and Received payments in your book. Afterward, it requires a bit of effort on our part in customizing this report. This way, we'll be able to view your client's payment by name.

I've added the detailed steps below  on how you can do it accurately. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports on the left panel.
  2. In the search box, enter Invoices and Received payments.
  3. Once opened, click the Customize button at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select the Filter section.
  5. Put a check-mark in the Customer box.
  6. Click the drop-down arrow.
  7. Tick which clients you would like you to display the payment.
  8. Then, Run report.

That will do. Aside from that, I encourage you to check out this article: Customize reports in the Online product. We'll be getting more details on how we can manage the reports, such as to include other columns or exclude the information that we don't want to display in the report.

If you still have questions about it, just let me know by replying below. I want to make sure you'll be able to get the things you want in QuickBooks. Take care!
