You can use the Class Tracking feature to assign a specific class to an entire invoice, receipt, or any other customer transaction. This way, you'll be able to classify and organize your expense transactions.
You'll need to turn on first the class tracking in QuickBooks. I'll guide you how:
Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
Select Advanced, then click Edit ✎ in the Categories section.
Click Track classes.
Select Warn me when a transaction isn't assigned a class.
Click Assign classes drop-down arrow, then select One to entire transaction or One to each row in transaction.
Select Save, then Done.
Once done, you can assign a class to each item in any transaction. Here's how:
Select +New, then choose the type of transaction you want to record.
Add the details of the transaction.
Assign a class: (Select the Class drop-down if you set One to entire transaction or Add the class in the Class column if you set One each row in transaction).
