Question

I have recurring invoices to be sent out the 2nd Monday of each month. However, they were sent out on the 9th instead of the 11th this month. Why?

I have the create days in advance set at 3. What does that do exactly?

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the due date depends on the term you've set up in your recurring transactions. Let me walk you through how to customize the recurring transactions.

 

  1. Click the Gear icon, and choose Recurring Invoice. 
  2. Press Edit under Action. 
  3. Under Interval drop-down arrow and select the specific month you wanted to be due. 
  4. In the Terms drop-down field, select Add new.  
  5. Set the term Name, choose Due by certain day of the month radio button, and enter the day of the month field.  
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Hit Save Template.

Thanks for getting back to us, @continouslm-gmai. I'd like to make it up you by sharing additional information on why does your recurring invoice sent out early than expected.

Since you've set days advance for your recurring invoice, this is the reason why it sent out 3 days in advance before the intended scheduled. In this case, you'll need to remove that and leave blank to the Create days in advance box, if you don't want to sent out your recurring invoice early.
