I issued an invoice to one of my clients, and few days later he wired the funds directly to my bankHow do I declare the wire is the payment for the invoice I issued?

Hello, ostrovsky. 

I know two possible ways to declare that a wired fund is a payment for the invoice in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll elaborate on each of these processes below. 

If your bank account (where your client wired the funds) is connected to QuickBooks, you can directly match your invoice to the wired transaction once downloaded. To do this, here's how:

1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
2. Select the tile for the account that your customer wired the fund.
3. Go to the For review tab.
4. In the Banking menu's For review tab, find a downloaded record. If you’re in Business View, look for “Records found” in the Assign To column. If you’re in Accountant View, look for “matches found” in the Category or Match column.
5. Select the downloaded record to expand the view. Note the Date, Description (or Bank detail), and amount spent or received.
6. Review the Matching records found in QuickBooks for the possible matching transaction already entered in QuickBooks.
7. Once the correct (invoice) match is found, select Match.

If the bank where your client wired the payment isn't connected to online banking, you'll have to manually receive the payment (make sure to indicate the appropriate Payment method) and record a bank deposit transaction. After that, match the deposit to your downloaded bank transaction (only if you opt to manually import your bank transactions to QBO).
