Question

I just upgraded from QB online to QB with payroll. I had invoices already entered which did come over. I need to "receive payment" but can't find invoices the invoices.

Thanks for upgrading your subscription. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to show the invoices, dan-birkhead-gma.

When receiving payment, let's make sure we choose the correct customer name and payment date. This reflects the invoices in the Outstanding Transactions section.

If the same thing happens, try signing in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues.

Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

If not, we can pull up reports of your invoices to see all the invoices you have entered before. Let me show you how:

  1. Click Reports on the left menu and search Invoice List.
  2. Enter a specific date range in the Report period field.
  3. Tick Run report.

We can also review the Audit Log to see if they are changed deleted. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Audit Log.
  2. Click the Filter button and select All Users.
  3. Enter the date range and select Transactions under Events.
  4. Select Deleted/Voided Transactions in the Show: field.
  5. Click the Apply button.

If there are deleted or removed, just follow the steps and details in this article to manually enter them: Use the audit log to re-enter deleted transactions.

I have a link here where you can find articles about managing your customer transactions: Sales and customers gathers topics for all your company's income and customers.
