Question

I want to add an EZ Map field for my invoice to include the customer's email address without using one of the preset custom fields. Is there a code for this?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this, jhoagland1.

While QuickBooks Online has features for customizing invoices, it also provides an ability to import custom templates you've designed outside of your books.

Here's how:

  • Step 1 - Confirm the feature is enabled

1. Use your Gear (⚙️) icon in the upper right corner, then click QuickBooks Labs.2. Scroll down and locate the switch for Import Style. Make sure it's turned on.
3. Select Done.

  • Step 2 - Create your template in Word

Intuit has a resource which details how to configure your document correctly. I'll be sure to include a link for this below.

  • Step 3 - Import the file into QBO

1. Go to the Gear (⚙️) icon, then Custom Form Styles.2. Expand your New style ▼ drop-down menu and hit Import style.3. Choose a form type.
4. Use the Upload field to pick your file.
5. Select Next to upload it.

Once uploaded, the document will be reviewed by our systems for marked fields. You'll be able to find detailed steps on creating templates in Word, mapping areas to data locations, and using your custom style invoice in our Importing Custom Invoice Templates article.

I'll be here to help if you have any other questions. Have a good day!
