I'd be glad to assist you with adding bank statements from January to July of 2018.
Before going into detail, I'd suggest reaching out to your bank to see how long your bank can backdate statements. Some banks can only allow statements from one year ago and others may backdate up to two years.
Once you've reached out to your bank, you can do a manual import which means you can download your bank statements to your computer and then uploading them to your QuickBooks Online account.
Importing bank statements is simple, here's how:
Pick a date range:
In QuickBooks, go to Accounting, then select Chart of Accounts.
Find the bank or credit card account you want to upload more transactions into. Then choose View register.
Scroll to the bottom of the list.
Write down the date of the oldest transaction. In many cases, the oldest transaction is the opening balance.
Download transactions from your bank:
Sign in to your bank or credit card’s website.
Follow your bank’s instructions for how to download transactions to your computer. Some banks call this WebConnect.
Review the file format and size:
Your bank might give you options for how to download/export your transactions. QuickBooks recommends using a CSV, QBO, and QFX file.
Start your upload:
If your account is connected to online banking, here’s how to start your upload:
In QuickBooks Online, go to the Banking menu, then select the Banking tab.
Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
Go to the small arrow ▼ icon by the Update button, then choose File upload.
Upload your file into QuickBooks:
Select Browse and select the file you downloaded from your bank, then click on Next.
From the QuickBooksaccount▼ drop-down menu, choose the account you want to upload the transactions into, then go to Next. If you haven’t connected your account to QuickBooks, you might not have an account to upload the transactions into. If you don't have one, pick Add New ▼ from the drop-down menu to create a new bank account.
Follow the onscreen instructions. Match the columns on the file with the banking fields in QuickBooks, then select Next.
When you’re ready, go to Let'sgo. QuickBooks will add the transactions to your account.
Please let me know if the information above does the trick. I'm always a comment away if you need anything else. Have a good rest of your day!
