I want to view today's invoices and get a running total for today.

I'd be glad to help you view today's invoices and get a running total of it, @alan-bandwhydrau. 

We can generate a Transactions List by Customer report, then add some filters to display the data you want.

Here's how:

1. In your QBO account, go to the left panel and select the Reports menu.
2. In the Find report by name field, search for Transaction List by Customer report.
3. Click the Customize button.
4. Under the Report period, select Today.
5. In the Filter section, click the box next to Transaction Type, and then choose Invoice.
6. Lastly, click Run report. 
   
   

Once done, you'll see all of your invoices for today and it's total.

Moreover, you can also memorize reports in QuickBooks if you want the same settings to be available for future use. This way, you do not have to go through the customization process again.
