Is it possible to add a client PO# onto the statement form, not seeing option for that data field - sure would be useful though?

no it is not possible to add a data field, however if you put the customer PO number in the memo block, that will show on a statement

Afraid that won't help me. I have to have the memo for the customers unit #.

Currently, customizing a statement is unavailable in QuickBooks. You'll want to follow the closest alternative mentioned by @Rustler.
