In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), you'll have the option to either enter your weekly hours worked by Flat rate or By hour when creating your invoices. With Flat rate, you'll be recording the amount directly. While with the By hour option, you can elaborate on how many weeks and the cost per week. Then, the system automatically calculates its amount. Please make sure to indicate a note in the Enter item description or Note to Customer section to inform your customer about its content.
For the detailed steps, here's how:
Go to the Invoices menu.
Select Create invoice.
Enter your customer's name, address, and email address.
Update the necessary fields (Invoice no., Invoice date, and Due date).
In the Product or Service section, add the service you performed. Select either Flat rate or Byhour from the drop-down menu, then enter a description.
Select Email once done.
