From there, it'll show you all the items including the inventory ones. You can also enter any word in the Item field. Then, QuickBooks will give you the closest result.
If you want to see the other details of that item, like accounts, I suggest searching it through Item List. Go to Lists menu and select Item List. In the Look for field, enter the name or keyword, then click Search. Once you've found the item, double-click to open it.
I'd like to share this article to you: Add, edit, and delete items. This will guide you in adding or modifying items in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please keep on posting here. I'll be happy to serve you.
Thank you, let me explain in more detail which the post did not allow earlier.
I've been using QB for years and I do use the Item column. However when choosing the item, you need to put in the part number EXACTLY starting with the beginning.
We recently switched from QBO and when entering in the product (item) you could put in a partial number and the item would come up.
Example:
Item is ABC1234
Desktop you have to enter exactly the beginning characters...ABC and the time will eventually come up.
with QBO, all you have to enter is 1234 without the beginning characters and the item would come up.
