to put in a name. I thought I could use this version for both personal and business. Additionally, we have rental property that I would like to keep separate. Did I purchase the wrong item?

Keeping business and personal financials separate is essential for any business owner, sccbradbury-gmai.

The usual advice is to keep two separate QuickBooks company files, one for business and one for personal. You can use QuickBooks Online Advanced for your business rental property. While you can subscribe to QuickBooks Self Employed or Mint whichever applies for personal needs.
