Question

Migrated PayPal donations showing negative amounts and not showing at all on some reports.

I recently migrated all 16 years of our nonprofits data from QuickBooks Mac 2021 to our new QBO account. When I open individual customer pages, all PayPal entries migrated from my QB desktop do not show up in the default view with “Type” setting at “All Transactions.” Nor are these deposit amounts included in “Sales by Customer Summary.” However on the individual customer pages, when I click the Type tab “All plus deposits,” the migrated PayPal payments show up, but as negative amounts. On New PayPal deposits since I started with QBO on Aug. 1st, when I choose the "Type" as "Sales Receipt" on accepting them, they show up and are listed as positive amounts . However, when I change the type on these new deposits to "Deposit,” they disappear and the amounts show up as negative when I click on "All Plus Deposits." When I then change the type on the transaction back to "Sales Receipt," they reappear and the amounts are positive. All of the migrated PayPal entries have the type listed as "Donation" which I’m certain is why they are showing up negative and not being counted on the “Sales by Customer Summary” page. I don't see any way to change the type on these many old PayPal transactions. Any idea on how I could change them all to "Sales Receipt" so that they show up? Thanks for your help.

I appreciate your thoughts. Please not that I can make the donations appear and disappear simply by changing the type from donation to sales receipt. If QB could just adjust the filters so that the "Type" Donations shows up in reports on individual donors/customers, the problem would be solved. Is that possible? Enjoy the day!
