Need to add another column to my chart of accounts example, a account number that matches my older books software such as catagory assets liabilities revenues expense?

Account numbers are manually entered in QuickBooks Online. I'll be glad to show you how. Before we proceed, let's enable the option on the Account and Settings page. 

1. Go to Settings ⚙ and then select Account and Settings.
2. Choose the Advanced tab.
3. Click on Edit ✎ in the Chart of accounts section.
4. Select Enable account numbers. If you want account numbers to show on reports and transactions, select Show account numbers.
5. After that, Save and then Done.

Once done, we can now assign the account numbers manually. Here's how:

1. Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
2. Select Batch edit above Action column.
3. Add account numbers in the Number column.
4. Click Save.

To see your accounts’ numbers, click the Gear icon at the top of the list in the Action column. Then, select Number.
