A pledge will still show as income and account receivable since this is a promise by a donor to give money to an organization in the future. When a donor commits to a pledge without reservation, the nonprofit receiving the funds records the pledge as revenue and an account receivable. That's why it's showing as income and account receivable.
Once you record pledges in your books, it will show contributions income and pledges receivable. QuickBooks will properly present accrual-based income, as required for audited financial statements. If you want, you can toggle to cash basis reporting to remove the effect of recording pledges.
Still, you can reach out to an accountant for further and thorough explanation if need. Also, track fund donations you receive via credit card, bank transfer, or as cash in QuickBooks Online. Please read through this article for the detailed steps and information on how to do it: Track funds you receive from donors.
