Question

QB was set up like a sole proprietor. The company is a Corp. I need to change the Equity accounts to Stock etc. Can I download a different chart of accounts?

Allow me to share some insight.

 

QuickBooks automatically creates your chart of accounts based on the industry and type of company you choose when creating your company file.

 

You can change the company type by following these steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced on the left pane.
  4. Click the Pencil icon for Company type.
  5. On the drop-down menu, choose the type of company.
  6. Click Save, then Done.
