QuickBooks Online Bank Reconciliations

This might not be the right place for this but here goes. Our American Express bill is huge. I upload the date from their site and code then reconcile it. I then go in at a later date to enter descriptions and sometimes I might have to change the COA code. Every time I enter the description or a different code I get an error message (see attached). This should NOT be happeneing. Changing a code or description does NOT effect the numbers. This is time consuming and unprofessional. QB Online is already too slow. When will this be fixed.

I know how disruptive it can feel when you're simply trying to make minor adjustments that turn into time-consuming tasks, mbecker1313.

In QuickBooks Online, when you edit a reconciled transaction, whether it’s updating the description, changing the Chart of Accounts (COA) code, or making any adjustments, you’ll see that pop-up message. This is intended to maintain accuracy.

Even though changes to descriptions or COA codes don’t directly impact the transaction amount, QuickBooks flags any modifications to reconciled transactions as a safeguard.

This is INFURIATING and has to change. It's you doing the CYA at our expense because your lawyers said so.
